How To Improve Your Info Product Killer Sites

Last week I got a comment from Jennifer, saying that she didn't believe my results because even though she did have Info Product Killer she couldn't make more than a few dollars a month, let alone a few thousand.

So I've decided to see if I can help her. Now while I can't promise I'll change her results overnight, I do think I'll be able to improve her performance substantially (or at least I hope that I can).

For the little that she has posted in the comments section, I know that she:

- has around 30 IPK sites online
- about 50% of then rank on page 1
- about 50% rank poorly
- she knows about the importance of backlinking

So if that's the case, I will suggest first working on those sites that are already doing well.

If they are already on page 1 of google but still not making sales, then there is obviously two major problems:

1. the site doesn't convert, or
2. there is not enough traffic searching for those keywords.

My first suggestion would be to get some analytics on her sites to find out if there is any traffic. If this is the problem, then the solution is pretty easy - add some more pages to the site of related products.

So let's say you've created a site about e.g. the Leapfrog Scribble and Write. Start a new page/post about the Leapfrog Text and Learn and the Leapfrog Chat and Count Phone. All similar products that someone searching for the first product would probably also be interested in. You'll start to increase the traffic for the site and hopefully make some sales.

However, what if the problem is the site just doesn't convert?

Firstly, check you are targetting the right market - don't use your Amazon UK id if you are sending people to Amazon US. You won't get paid.

I use the Amazon US associates ID for ALL my sites (even though I'm in Australia) as the market is bigger there.

Also make sure you have a CLEAR call to action. The two call to action's that work best for me are the big image that has a picture of the product and a 'buy from amazon' image under it.

The second call to action is in the text - something like 'buy from amazon' or 'click here to read more reviews on Amazon'.

I get about 50% of my sales from the text link and about 50% from the image link. Have both.

So they would be my first suggestions for her site's that are already ranking well.

Summary:

1. Make sure you are getting enough traffic - if not add more products to the site, and
2. Make sure your call to actions are clear and you are sending them to the correct Amazon store (I prefer sending them to the US store).

Next post I'll try and offer suggestions for those sites that are not ranking anywhere. Let me know if this has helped.

Info Product Killer 2010 Review - Prelaunch

I've been looking in the members section to see if I can find what's new with Info Product Killer 2010 and as yet it hasn't changed. Although there are a whole host of new info that is meant to be included in the new IPK including strategies for making money with Info Products (Clickbank) as well as just physical products (Amazon).

So I'm guessing that the Info Product Killer 2010 guide and video's will contain updated information including what to do now that the Google Mayday changes are here.

I'm still not sure what the Info Product Killer 2010 price will be yet, I'm assuming it's going to be similar to the original IPK although I hear that there is an upsell as well (not sure what that will be yet either).

But overall I'm getting quite excited. This is the best product that I've ever purchased online (or at least the one that has made me the most money) so I'm hanging out to see what else is going to be included.

Yes it seems that IPK is relaunching and the new version is only going to be available for 48 hours! Good grief what does this mean?

Do previous customers get access to the new improved version? Why is it being restricted? Looks like we will find out soon.

I know I'll be hanging out to see what Info Product Killer 2010 is going to be like since I've loved the product so much so far.

On a related note, I had my best Amazon month ever last month all from free traffic!

Info Product Killer Results after 2 years

Wow, it's been a year since I updated this blog and I still maintain the Info Product Killer was one of the best purchases and return on investment that I've made.

My sites continue to get more traffic as they age and I add more content and backlinks (although to be honest I don't really do that much work to them) and I still have the original 12 or so sites that I started with and have only added around 3 or 4 new ones in the time frame.

So I thought I'd give you a little bit of inspiration. Prior to purchasing IPK I made virtually nothing with Amazon. I think I purchased it in October 2008 (or around then anyway). So in the past 2 years I've made ...

If you can't see it, it says my commissions total $22,655.92. That's for just under two years though.

Impressed?

That's amazing if I do say so myself. Of course when you break it down it equates to just over $1K per month (although most of my money is made around Christmas time).

Now that's what I call a good return on investment!

Info Product Killer - 1st Jan to 25th July 2009

Over the past six months I've let most of niche Amazon sites that I created using the Info Product Killer method fall by the wayside. Up until two months ago I didn't touch any of them, nor did I do any promotion on them.

As a result from January to April my Amazon commissions took a nose dive and I barely earned more than $100 in any given month. But in May I decided to get back into them and this time use only free methods and SEO to get my sites ranked and making me sales.

As a result, I made around $250 in May, $700 in June, and this month so far I've made $1,200.

The reason for this is primarly because I started to SEO my sites better and do a major backlinking campaign on them.

Now the SEO techniques that are included in the IPK course are good, but I just wasn't getting the same top ranking results as the writers were. I don't know if Google was sandboxing my sites or what, but once I started to change things up a bit, my sites started moving towards page one and I've now got the few I've been working on to Page 1. I'll be working on the other's soon.

So what did I do?

Well the first thing I did was start to build web 2.0 sites around the main sites. Web 2.0 sites are those that allow you to place your content on them for free. I mainly use blogger.com and hubpages, but I also have some squidoo lenses, blogsome.com sites and in the future I also want to try and use infobarrel and blog.com.

Each of these sites had a link (just one link) back to the main site using my main keyword and one link to the next web 2.0 site. This method is commonly known as the linkwheel method.

I didn't use the linkwheel method completely as intended, because I actually used these web 2.0 sites to build useful helpful pages that complimented my main site. (The original method suggest just using one article that is duplicated across all sites). I didn't do this. I made the effort to create good quality original content on all the support sites so they could stand alone as well.

So far it has worked great.

It has given my Amazon niche sites a major boost in rankings and my earnings are improving because of this. I've heard other people say that they also do various things like bookmarking, submitting rss feeds to rss directories and social networking. All of these can create more backlinks to your sites and help you move up in the rankings.

Doing this will really give a huge boost to your Info Product Killer sites. And you should start now. Christmas is going to be here sooner than you think and this year I plan on doing NO ppc. Just search traffic only.

Seriously, Info Product Killer was the best purchase I made last year. Get it.

Info Product Killer - 3 Month Review

Sorry for the lack of updates - I went away over Christmas and spent time with family - which was lovely. I hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas too.

Anyway .. whatever was the final score from my Info Product Killer results

Ta da!

So as you can see I made a total of $8,379.06 in commissions !! SWEET ..

Now I did spend nearly $3000 in PPC to get that, so my actual PROFIT is just under $5,500.

I stopped my Adwords campaign on 22nd December. Since then I've had a few small orders (around $40 worth or something) so obviously my profit was mainly due to adwords.

I'll definately be doing this for other times during the year, Valentines Day, Easter, Halloween etc when people are spending money again, but right now I'm having a break from IPK. I'll probably start it back up again mid January to get ready for Valentines Day so if you want to keep following along to see my progress I'd love to keep writing updates.

Info Product Killer - One Week away from Christmas

Well I've now made $5,545.83 commissions with Amazon since late October (I think I started Info Product Killer in the last week of October - can't remember the exact date). Which is friggin' amazing! I'm absolutely thrilled. And since the Aussie dollar is about 0.66 US cents at the moment that means I've made around $8 Thousand Dollars Australian! (less ppc)

Although it does suck that Amazon takes so long t0 send out your cheques. I wish Amazon would offer direct debit to overseas affiliates like Clickbank does. Especially because Google just charged me a grand on my credit card for my ppc costs. Now while I do have the money to pay this, I can imagine that others would not so they would have a debt hanging on their credit cards until the Big A (amazon) decides to pay up.

Oh well - I can wait I guess.

I just checked Amazon Christmas ordering cut-offs (no point spending ppc when I don't need too) and it looks like you can still get stuff right up until the 23rd of December which is impressive.

Looks like I'll still be running my campaigns right up until the 23rd then. I wonder who buys that close to Christmas? Oh that's right - people like me who STILL haven't finished their Christmas shopping ..

Well after a busy week I just checked and I've now made a total of $2,213.77 in Amazon Commissons. Very nice.

Late last week I started getting a little cocky and upped my Adwords spend to $200 per day (I know scary huh) thinking I was being ultra clever and you know what, it didn't make a lick of difference! - I've now put it back down to $30 a day again which is much more in my comfort zone and I'm still getting the same results.

Lesson: If something is working - don't think you are cleverer than Google and try and change it - leave it as it is.

Oh, and you know my experiment to use the IPK template on an info product. Hasn't worked again since that one time. So I've changed my info product landing pages to squeeze pages and autoresponder messages again.

Woohoo! I've gone up another % rate (I'm now at 8%) and I've also reached just over $1,500 !! What a milestone.

I am seeing a huge increase in traffic today than yesterday too so I guess people are starting to go online and look for stuff (nothing else has changed - rankings/ppc budget) so it's just more traffic.

IPK Results - Nov 20

Well I reached my first goal of over $1,000 for the month yesterday - as you can see from my screen shot here. This brings my total profit since starting IPK 4 weeks ago to $1057.50 (I made $30 odd dollars in October).

I am so loving this program.

I also went back into the Members Area a few days ago and there was a notice that they are planning on adding some new reports and features for when Christmas is over. One of the most interesting things is a new SEO software program that Info Product Killer members will be allowed to beta test before they release the product to the public January next year so I'm looking forward to trying it out.

I will definately be continuing this program next year once Christmas is finished as well as there are heaps of videos and ideas on how to promote different products and niches. Awesome stuff.

Info Product Killer - My Best Day So Far!

I had my best day so far today (Nov 17th). Just checked my Amazon affiliate stats and made $167.17 today - very nice!

I've also gone up another commission level, I'm now at 7.5% which brings my total earnings since starting to: $796.10

Another interesting experiment I tried was to use the template layout from IPK for an info product site I have. This is a site that I had previously made probably one or two sales over the last six months (yes, very poor), but as soon as I changed the template to once similar to IPK I made a sale over night. Hmm interesting ... I wonder if this was a co-incidence or not? I'll keep an eye over the next few days to see if this happens again.

Just a quick update today because I'm not at my regular computer (and I'm on dial-up where I am right now! Ya - I know :( who are these people and why haven't they embraced wireless, or the internet (you know that crazy world wide web thing all the kids seem to be doing these days .. anyways ..))

Just logged into my amazon aff account and saw that I had made another $62.05, NICE!

That brings my total up to $443.82

I think I'm going to send these guys a big fat sloppy kiss - I'm in love with their Info Product Killer system (remember it's only been 3 weeks, and I only have a handful of sites up).

Although my best selling site has slipped back to page 5 on Google for the main keyword (it's on no. 1 in yahoo though which is great).

I might leave it alone for a day or two to see if it moves again on its own otherwise I might do a bit more seo on it.

Anyway I'm writing way more than I meant to (remember I'm on dial up here - yes I'm in hicksville this weekend) so once I get back home to my beautiful fast adsl2 broadband I'll do some more sites and let you know how it goes.

Info Product Killer - Nov 12th Results

Traffic was WAAY up today. I guess people are starting to think Christmas! I was doing some research online about Christmas shopping and apparently around December 8th is when it peaks. So there is still a few weeks to get in before then.

The site that I'm trying to move up the SERPS is now on page 4, so it's slowly getting there. I'll work on it a bit more tonight as well to see if I can get it any higher.

Made another $48.71 today bringing my overall profit to $381.77. I'm definately looking forward to receiving this lovely check. (Even though Amazon takes an age to get it to you).

Info Product Review - Nov 11th Results

Had my best day so far - $55.90 commissions today. Plus I've gone up to a higher commission level (I'm at 7% now) which means a bit of a boost to my earnings as well.

Therefore my current running total is: $333.06 - Nice!

I've noticed a substantial increase in traffic in the last day or so, which you would expect in the lead up to Christmas (early December should be a killer then!) and I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens over the next few weeks.

Only a few of my sites are listed on page 1 of Google, most of them are page 5 or 6 still, however my best site which is getting me the most sales is on page 5 (and sloooowly moving up) so even those sites that are not on page 1 still get sales for me.

I've currently got 11 baby sites and 1 mother site up. I do plan on adding more baby sites I've just been busy with the mother site (which is ranked very poorly at the moment - to which I'm trying to rectify).

All in all - a great day!

My goal was to make $100 commission today, so did I make it? :( Nope .. not even close. But on a brighter note I had my best day so far with another $43.63 in my pocket. My traffic is starting to improve and I'm adding more text to my pages (google loves text) to help boost my rankings.

I'm still absolutely thrilled though because my running total is now $263.11

That's for hardly any work (1-2 hours a day at most). I'm definately impressed.

I didn't think Amazon shipped on the weekends?? I guess they do now in the run up to Christmas. So some of my orders where shipped today putting another $21.30 in my pocket (running total now $219.48).

I re-read some of the info product killer stuff earlier today and wouldn't you know I missed a few key on page SEO pointers. That'll teach me to get ahead of myself and try and be clever. There's a rule for everyone (even those who are pretty good at affiliate marketing) to make sure if you are following someone else's method to read the instructions properly.

Never mind, I'm still doing pretty well considering. Let's see once I make these changes if it improves anything.

Oh and I signed up for the mailing list for Affi - one of the guys behind IPK. He is hilarious. They have another program called Affiliate Outlaw (it's very expensive at 320 UK pounds) but if it's anything like IPK then I'm intrigued. So if I can make at least US$5000 by Christmas with IPK, I'm buying Affiliate Outlaw.

Info Product Killer Review - Nov 8 Results

I always have a slow day in earnings on a Saturday. I wonder if that's because Amazon doesn't have a full day to ship items today? I still got plenty of orders though, so I guess we will see next Monday what my commission will be. Monday just happens to be the 10th and I'm aiming for my first 100 dollar day that day - fingers crossed.

So only 11 items were shipped today for a total commission of $15.57. Bringing my running total to $198.18 .. oooohh just shy of $200. I'll get there next time.

I was reading a response from the author or IPK on a forum earlier today who mentioned that last Christmas he only had 12 websites set up - and that is what he made his $100,000 from. Boy oh Boy! That's great statistics.

I've got 10, so perhaps I need another two to start getting better rankings and more sales? :)

I've started adding toys for different age groups on the mother site. So far I'm only at age 4 (started at baby and working my way up). This will pad the site out some more and give it more meat - or at least that's what I'm hoping.

I also think its time I added a sitemap as I've added quite a few product pages and even I forget which toys I've done and which one's I haven't.

Anyway I made another $30.43 today which brings my running total to $182.61.

In one of the IPK video's he shows, on Nov 10 he made over $1,000 that day. I'm doubting I'll be able to match that, but fingers crossed for my first $100 day on Nov 10th (that's what I'll aim for - wish me luck).

Info Product Killer Review - Nov 6 Results

My traffic picked back up today and my main goal was to start adding more sub pages to the mother site. Some of the sites that are starting to be indexed on Google are bringing me sales now (I know because I don't have adwords campaigns on them so the only way people are finding them are from natural searches).

My conversion rate is sitting between 10% & 15% which I think is brilliant. I've never had conversion rates that high before. So overall things are working well.

I haven't added any new domains in the last few days, preferring to try and build my main site, but I do plan on making more over the next few weeks.

I think this work now will bode very well for next Christmas as well as the domains will be nice and aged by then.

Anyway, today I made another $30.12 commission bring the overall profit now to $152.18

I've sold enough items for my commission rate to increase now to 6.5% which means a few extra dollars.

I didn't have much traffic today, I guess not many people were on their computers today (or at least they weren't buying toys!) but commissions are still pretty good.

Made another $22.74 today bringing the running profit total to $122.06

If I continue to average around $25 per day, that'll be over $1000 that I can bank for Christmas. Very nice indeed.

I'm also making pretty good sales on other items that I'm not specifically promoting which I like. Amazon really is the master at getting people to add more items to their carts.

Info Product Killer - Nov 4 Results

One of my websites has moved to page 1 of Google!! I'm so excited. I hope that means lots of extra traffic and orders - I guess we will find out soon enough. I still can't find many of my other websites though.

Although the good news is that I've noticed that I'm starting to get traffic from Yahoo on a few of my sites which means they are probably ranking there as well which is great news.

Anyway I didn't get much work done today because I was busy watching the US election - it was on TV all day here in Australia. Normally I'm not very interested in politics, especially from other countries, but I just felt like this was something special, historical. Anyway I'm getting off topic ...

Let's talk figures.

Had another 16 items shipped today for a commission of $27.71.

That brings my running profit to a total of $99.32

So far IPK has more than paid for itself and it's still only early November, I can't wait to see what happens in December!

Info Product Killer - Nov 3 Results

For those that are wondering what domains I am using, all of the sites are .com's. I know I could have done this cheaper with .info's but for me .com's are worth it in this case.

Most of my sites are now indexed but I'm not sure how the IPK guys get onto the first page because mine are averaging around page 5 or 6 of Google. Not great. My best domain is on page 2 which is not bad, but there is one site where I can't even find where it is (got to about page 30 before I gave up looking).

However I'm still getting lots of very cheap traffic from the ppc method they show. I'm getting most of my clicks at 0.06 cents, some at even 0.04 cents. And the conversion is pretty high so I'm way ahead.

Anyway let's talk money! Some of the items were shipped today so my affilate earnings for today is $32.70.

That brings the grand total of profits so far to: $71.61

Info Product Killer - Weekend Results

Just checked my affiliate stats and I had 26 items ordered this weekend (average price per item was $35 meaning my commission for this weekend will be roughly 26x$35 x 6% commission = $54.60).

Because it's the weekend, none of those have been shipped yet, so I'll let you know what my exact commission rate was once they are all signed, sealed and delivered, but I gotta tell you it's looking VERY good!

I had someone ask me how I'm getting traffic to these websites and honestly I'm just following the plan laid out in IPK step by step.

They have included a section of videos called OPSEO which means On Page Search Engine Optimization which tells you the exact formula they use to get listed highly in the serps. It's a combo of outgoing links on the page, meta tags, alt tags, other pages on the site etc. It's all very clever and mathematical really. I particularly like this part because I was never sure exactly how many times I need to put keywords on a page, or what text I should put where.

I haven't used the templates they provide because I am already pretty good at html, but they do include the web templates for those who want them.

And I got another question on how I'm choosing which toys to promote. Actually I just chose them at random. I went to Amazon's bestseller list and chose products around the number 30-50 range. I purchased Info Product Killer (which will be from now on referred to as IPK) about a week ago as I had been thinking about getting into affiliate marketing for Amazon for some time.

Of course I had dabbled with Amazon before and did pretty well when the Kindle came out but since then haven't really had any good results, so I was quite excited with IPK was released.

I hesitated for about two days before I actually purchased (because it is rather expensive) but ever since I have fallen in love with it and I've become obsessed with building little mini toy websites in time for Christmas.

As at today I now have 8 toy websites online and I'm building more and more as we speak.

Only two of my websites have been listed in Google so far so most of my traffic is coming from low cost PPC methods that they teach in IPK.

Given that I'm sure you'd like to know if I've made any money yet?

Ok, it's not a lot - but as at today I'm in profit a total of $38.91 !!

O.K. so I'm not rich yet, but I see sooo much potential for this - I'm really excited about it.
